Fairness
I remember when as a child I was so obsessed with fairness that if someone stepped on one of my feet, I'd go and step on the other foot just so it would be fair. In retrospective, seeking equality by pulling down that which is better off is foolish. It is better to improve what can be improved, giving preference to those who are most in need.
